Currently im very obsessed with House Of Night series. The book is purely about vampires. But a different kind of vampire from Twilight.
In Twilight, people turn into vampire through the venom of the vampire. The process of turning into a vampire is very torturing. Its not an enjoyable process, in another word.
But in the series of House Of Night, when a vampire suck/taste human blood, the human will not feel torturing but very enjoying. It is as though they are having sexual pleasure.
They must be marked by the Godness, Nyx, in order to turn into a vampire. But in the process , Change, they are not called vampire YET. They are called as Fledglings. During the Change, if the fledgling's body reject the change, they would bleed and die. If they are able to finish the Change, they have turned into a vampire.
Its also prohibited for fledgings to feed on human blood. When a fledging feed on human blood, they will form imprint. Its something like the imprint in Twilight, Similar. When a fledging taste the blood of the vampire, they will also form imprint. So that's also prohibited.
